Abstract | At the heart of this thesis lies the exploration of communal discernment practices in the life of the Church. Rather than constructing a unified theory or develop a one-size-fits-all definition of communal discernment I am creating a picture from the elements and practices of a diversity of traditions. I am arguing that in the context of communal discernment the relationships and interactions among the participants take on the character of spiritual practices and become a trajectories of faith through which the Spirit may participate in human decision making. |
